Accessibility Statement for MEG
Last Updated: October 2025
Our Commitment
MEG is committed to making our web application accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant accessibility regulations.
Current Accessibility Status
MEG's platform is approximately 90% compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards. We've recently completed a comprehensive accessibility audit and have a clear plan to achieve full compliance by Q4 2026.
What's Not Yet Fully Accessible
We're currently working to fix the following issues:
Image and Icon Descriptions: Adding alternative text to visual elements
Navigation Labels: Enhancing screen reader guidance for menus and buttons
Form Fields: Improving label associations for better keyboard navigation
Zoom Functionality: Enabling text scaling without content overlap
These are largely global template improvements - fixing them once resolves them platform-wide, making full compliance highly achievable within our projected timelines.

When We'll Be Fully Accessible
We are committed to achieving full WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance by Q4 2026.
Detailed Implementation Information
The following sections provide comprehensive information for procurement teams and stakeholders about our accessibility improvement program.
Our Accessibility Roadmap 2025-2026
Based on our comprehensive gap analysis, we have developed a structured approach to achieving full WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance. Think of this like renovating a building - we've completed the structural assessment, identified what needs updating, and now we're systematically working through each area.
Phase 1: Foundation Improvements (Q4 2025 - Q1 2026)
Timeline: 3 months
Global Navigation Elements: Standardising ARIA labels and navigation structures across all pages
Alternative Text Implementation: Adding comprehensive alt text for all images, icons, and graphical elements
Header and Logo Accessibility: Ensuring all branded elements include proper descriptions
Quick Wins: Addressing the 100% fixable issues identified in our audit
Phase 2: Core Functionality Enhancement (Q2-Q3 2026)
Timeline: 6 months
Form Accessibility: Improving label associations and keyboard navigation for all interactive forms
ARIA Implementation: Refining contextual ARIA attributes for better screen reader experiences
Individual Page Optimisation: Addressing page-specific link titles and alt tags that require individual attention
Zoom Functionality: Enabling proper zoom capabilities up to 300% without content overflow
Phase 3: Advanced Compliance & Testing (Q4 2026)
Timeline: 3 months
Duplicate ID Resolution: Systematically eliminating duplicate element IDs across all pages
Comprehensive Testing: Conducting user testing with individuals using assistive technologies
PDF Remediation: Converting or replacing legacy PDFs with accessible alternatives
Live Content: Implementing solutions for dynamic content accessibility
Colour Contrast Refinement: Ensuring all text meets enhanced contrast ratios
Phase 4: Validation & Continuous Improvement (Q4 2026 onwards)
Timeline: Ongoing
Third-party Audit: Engaging external accessibility experts for validation
User Feedback Integration: Establishing regular feedback cycles with users of assistive technologies
Documentation Update: Creating comprehensive accessibility documentation for all features
Staff Training: Ensuring all team members understand accessibility best practices
Technical Implementation Strategy
Our approach prioritises systematic improvements that address root causes rather than symptoms. For instance, many of our current accessibility alerts stem from global navigation elements - by fixing these template-level issues once, we resolve them across the entire platform.
Current Focus Areas:
Systematic Pattern Resolution: Since many issues repeat across pages (like missing ARIA labels on navigation), we're addressing these at the template level for maximum impact
Developer-Designer Collaboration: Our front-end team and UX designers are working jointly to ensure accessibility is built in, not bolted on
Automated Testing Integration: Implementing accessibility checks in our development pipeline to prevent regression
Measurable Milestones
We are committed to transparency in our accessibility journey:
By End Q1 2026: Achieve 95% WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance
By End Q3 2026: Reach full compliance on all critical user pathways
By End Q4 2026: Complete platform compliance with independent verification
